Heal, 2011, TRT: 48 minutes, 20 seconds
Apropos of the cliché “when life gives you lemons make lemonade,” Heal is the documentation of a performance in which I cut and squeeze a profusion of lemons. After this process I then stuff one halved lemon with batting and sew it back together. This endurance-based piece captures the absurd and exhausting repetitiveness of this act and reflects on how much work is involved in the healing process.
